I was speaking with a friend recently regarding the type of business I am in, and realized that I am in the business of documenting love and happiness. I enjoy spending time with couples, documenting their special moments, and developing friendships with my clients. Because of this, my job is always rewarding and fun. Your wedding day should be one of the best days of your life, and I want to be there to capture it for you.
Taking pictures is in my blood. It started with my grandfather, an award winning photographer and outdoor adventurer. It was passed to my uncle, a classic photojournalist for a major newspaper, as well as an amazing studio photographer. This skill for photography has now passed down to me. I am a photographer who documents love and happiness through capturing fleeting moments, small details, and genuine emotion with a style that combines modern photojournalism and traditional posed images, in order to preserve these memories for your own enjoyment, and for the generations that follow you.
Photography became a passion for me at a young age. I purchased my first camera when I was about 12 years old after saving diligently for almost a year. I was ecstatic when I finally had my Pentax K-1000 in my hands! That camera was a rock and I loved it. I remember experimenting with long exposures while swirling lights around to create an image, getting up close to my subjects at funky angles to get artistic shots, and just taking pictures of things and people I found interesting or beautiful. The technology has changed leaps and bounds since my first camera, and I am constantly updating my equipment to keep up with current trends and camera capabilities. This allows me to maintain the quality of images that my clients expect. I use only professional series cameras and lenses now days, a far cry from when I was 12 years old! What has not changed is my passion for creative, fun, and interesting photography.
As you have read, my joy and passion is photography and I know you will feel this when we first meet. I love hearing about the plans you have for your wedding, and you will see that my mind will start to go into overdrive, creating ideas for photographing your day in a way that will capture what most represents YOU, while having a ton of fun doing so. I enjoy the personal aspects of developing relationships and friendships with my clients. This allows me to create stunning and memorable images that capture the essence of who you are as a couple, and also document your day in a way that allows you to re-live the story months and years down the line.
